How AI helped Karina start and scale her business

What started as a creative side project quickly became something bigger. With AI as her co-pilot, Karina has built a business from scratch, helped others tell powerful stories – and launched an initiative that’s bringing church to people who can’t attend in person.

“I built my own website, I manage my own marketing, and without AI, it wouldn’t be possible. But it’s also necessary, because I wouldn’t be competitive without it”

From Hobby to Life-Changing Projects: Taking the leap with AI

Artificial intelligence can make entrepreneurship both more enjoyable and less daunting. For Karina, it means that after just two years of running her part-time business, she’s ready to take on a major project that could change the lives of many Danes.

Karina started her business two years ago as a hobby, with the goal of helping others produce compelling audio narratives in podcast format. She quickly discovered the potential of AI as a central tool: for brainstorming stories, recording, editing, and marketing. This allowed her to assist in all phases of podcast production, and she was up and running overnight:

“I didn’t need a 12-month startup phase. I could press the button and start production very quickly.”

Turning a new idea into a business with AI

As Karina gained momentum, she had yet another idea: making church services accessible to everyone via podcast.

And, again, AI played an important role right from the start: Karina relied on ChatGPT to conduct market research and -analysis to determine if there was a viable audience for her idea.

“You can save so much time and money by asking ChatGPT - about almost anything. But it’s crucial to ask the right questions and create good prompts. That’s the most important thing I’ve learned about working with AI: ChatGPT can’t invent the ball. It can run with it, but you have to make a good pass. If you give bad input, you’ll get bad output.”

Today, 62 Danish priests have joined the initiative, with more on the way. All of them want to be part of the “podcast church” which uses podcasts to provide elderly, sick, busy, or otherwise homebound individuals with the opportunity to experience the atmosphere and messages of a church service. It’s about creating accessibility and community – harnessing AI’s strengths while keeping human relationships at the forefront.

By incorporating AI into nearly every aspect of her business, Karina has saved a lot of money:

“I build my own website, I manage my own marketing, and without AI, it wouldn’t be possible. But it’s also necessary – otherwise, I wouldn’t be competitive”.

Tools Karina uses

In addition to ChatGPT, Karina uses Cleanvoice, an advanced audio editing tool that automatically removes background noise and corrects small recording errors. This saves time and ensures a high, consistent sound quality, even when recordings aren’t made in a professional studio.
